Yes, dresses.
This isn’t something I’m claiming to be an expert in, but it’s something I do have an interest in…and not for the reasons you’re probably hilarously forming in your heads now (especially you, Rixon!). My friend Andrea told me I should write a blog about dresses, so here we are.
I find dresses interesting in the same way I find shirts, trousers, bras, jackets, jumpers etc etc interesting. It’s generally an interest in clothing. In particular I find the cut and construction of clothes the most interesting. It goes back to the post about music, I like knowing how things work. I often have friends asking for my advice on clothes they’re thinking of buying and I seem to understand what cuts suit my friends’ bodies.
To me, these things are a kind of technology; there’s a science to it. I don’t keep up with ‘fashions’ and such as I prefer more functional clothing and I’m not that into fashion and clothing. It’s rather strange. I like it, but I don’t actively find out what the newest fashions are…mainly because before too long they’re out of fashion and I don’t really get that. Perhaps I should start taking an interest?
One other thing I find interesting about the clothing thing is that my friends who ask my advice or opinion all have wildly differing tastes and it’s really fascinating to see the sorts of things people would like to be wearing and what they want to wear them with.
I’ve always fancied having a clothing label at some point… /tumbleweed
P.S. I may have a look into some clothes and post up what I think is ‘hot’ so you can all tell me my taste is awful. How does that sound?
