I thought I’d give the WordPress BlackBerry app another go so I’m laying in bed writing this to see how it goes.
I usually listen to Classic FM on the radio when I’m in bed, mainly because it’s relaxing, but also because I love the music. It got me thinking and inspired the subject of this entry.
Why do I love music?
As an aside, I just turned my bedroom light down and the BlackBerry’s screen has dimmed so it’s not too bright. I’ve never noticed that. How cool!
Anyway, it’s hard to say why I like music – and I like A LOT of music – exactly but I guess it’s to do with my love of taking things apart to see how they work and to understand them. Doing this with music is fascinating and I do it with everything I listen to.
I love relaxing, shutting my eyes and breaking down a song into its component parts in my head as I listen. It gives me focus and allows me to really appreciate the song as a whole, be it Dire Straits, Mascagni, Journey or Avenged Sevenfold.
It’s also given me a wider appreciation of music and I listen to a vastly varied selection nowadays but I always find myself enjoying the ‘purer’ types. I’m very much a purist with a lot of things so I’m always drawn to orchestral works or piano based songs.
I think music is so wonderful because it’s something to everyone. Everyone will have an opinion on a song and that same song will give vastly different reations to different people. That, along with the process of making it, is what I find fascinating and why I love music.
P.S. This app is great but my hands ache now!
