I'm glad you posted that, Dick! I really didn't want everyone to come back and say "Macs are fabulous, never go wrong, you'd be stupid to carry on with a PC."

I want real world advice and let's face it...computers go wrong. On Friday, my computer died, within 10 mins I had it unplugged, in the car and I was on the phone to my tech guy to make sure he wasn't leaving work early. He had a look at it for me on Saturday and phoned me today to say it'll be £139 all in for new motherboard and to load windows onto it with all the drivers etc.

I don't want the same thing to happen and have to send my Mac away for a month while it's fixed. Time is important!

Macs are extremely nice (one might even say sexy) but after using them for 12 months, I went back to the PC. Yes, the PC crashes but it can easily be fixed. I don't honestly find any of the Windows to be that bad. Mine rarely become unusable. And Macs don't have perfect hardware. They are an utter swine to get fixed and, in my experience, it's hard to get Apple to acknowledge their faults. Add in the fact that Macs are far more expensive than even quality PCs and it becomes harder to justify them.

I know this isn't what most people will say but that's just my experience of using both.
